what became of the paintings???
there have been many films over the years in which one or more paintings held a position of importance to the telling of the story. i've often thought about how nice it would be to own some of these paintings to hang in my house. people refer to items like dorothy's ruby slippers from "the wizard of oz" as something they would want to own. although that would be wonderful, i'd much prefer a painting. i'll give you a list of films that i really liked, and also wish i could get hold of the paintings if i could. 1) laura(gene tierney) 2) that hamilton woman(vivien leigh) 3) that forsyte woman(the painting with greer garson pointing at the artist's other painting that she was admiring) 4) vertigo (carlotta valdez) 5) a portrait of jennie(jennifer jones) 6) scarlet street(either the painting of joan bennett, or one of the many others in the movie). .... also, here are a couple that i would not want --- 1) the picture of dorian gray (what a hideous monstrosity, at least how it appeared at the end of the film). 2) the ghost and mrs. muir (no thank you, i think that guy's face might haunt me). i know there are a bunch of other movies with paintings in them, but these were the first that came to mind for me. heck, i haven't even touched on television shows with paintings. two questions for any of you that are reading this: does anyone know what became of any of these paintings? 2) what other movie or movies can you name where paintings played a key role in the story, and would you buy the painting if you could?
